Your goal comes first
How to choose the right exam
Begin with the requirement you need to meet, rather than the exam name alone.
Language certification
Check the language, level, test format and certificate accepted by your institution or application process.
University admissions
Check whether your programme requires an admissions test, makes it optional, or specifies particular scores or sections.
Academic aptitude
Distinguish a language test from an aptitude or mathematics assessment, such as TestAS or dMAT. Verify the relevant admissions pathway.
Professional testing
Identify the qualification and awarding organisation first. Then check its testing provider and registration instructions.
Preparing, registering and taking an exam at a centre are separate steps. Confirm with CDI what support and local availability apply to your exam; not every test can be taken at our centre.
